AIDA INSTRUCTOR COURSE

BECOME A PROFESSIONAL

The AIDA Freediving Instructor Course prepares candidates to enter the world of professional freediving. The structured design of the AIDA Instructor Course will introduce you to the AIDA system and help you gain the knowledge, skills and teaching techniques to be ready to teach in a professional, competent and confident way.

During the course you will:

  • Become familiar with the AIDA standards and materials.
  • Build on your Instructor-level theory and role-model in-water skills necessary for teaching freediving courses
  • Learn about student control and the organisational aspects to safely conduct a freediving course
  • You will, through different scenarios, gain the confidence to anticipate and identify the mistakes and problems you will encounter when conducting freediving courses and counsel your students to overcome them
  • Gain knowledge of the other aspects related to teaching freediving: Legal responsibility, risk management,   marketing and freediving as a business
  • Be expected to demonstrate role-model awareness and conservation for the marine environment during  freediving activities
To enroll on AIDA Instructor Course, you must be at least 18 years old and have an AIDA Level 4 certification (or equivalent from a recognized training agency and completed AIDA Crossover Day). You also need to have a completed course of First Aid with CPR within the last two years. The instructor candidate should already posses a high competency of freediving and be able to meet the listed diving depth and time requirements:
  • Open water (sea)
    • CWTB 40-50m
    • FIM 40-50m
    • CNF > 20m
    • Demonstrating proper technique in all disciplines
  • Confined water (pool):
    • STA 4:00-5:00
    • DYNB > 90m
    • DNF > 50m
    • Demonstrating proper technique in all disciplines
The divesite is located less than 10min drive with our RIB from the centre. Our facilities offer warm showers, changing room & lockers, so we can arrive to the divesite prepared and ready to jump in the water.
